This deck of “Tarocchino Bolognese” cards, created around 1660 by renowned Italian engraver Giuseppe Maria Mitelli for Count Filippo Bentivoglio, represents a masterpiece of Baroque art. Originally comprised of 62 cards, the deck was titled “Giuoco di Carte, con Nuova Forma di Tarocchini” (Card Game, with a new form of Tarot). This unique deck, identical to traditional Tarocchi except for the absence of cards 2, 3, 4, and 5 in each suit.
Our deck which is a cutted version of the original sheet, only have 33 of the 62 original cards and is in very good condition. This deck later reprint by an anonymous Bolognese card-maker, “Alla Trombetta,” around 1750 is the colored version that is the most well known version.
